-What is more dangerous...the poison in the cup, or the hand that places it there?

The time around the re-opening of the dark portal presented a new set of challenges for the secret society known only as "Hemlock". Where to stand on the renewed relations with Silvermoon City, and what Forsaken interest existed in the Outlands? First and foremost, the Society had changed. No longer were they a group of rogues brewing poisons in the shadows; No longer were they a group of shadow priests and rotting warriors.

The first to lead was Medea Musgrave, a young Deathstalker. She was a brutal warrior and cunning tactician. She lead the guild through much of its early years, rallying Forsaken and other Horde to Hemlock's banner. In order to pursue her dedication to blade mastery, she left public life for study and mediation.

To further the goals from the shadows, she passed the torch to the first rogue in Hemlock's ranks, Mel Musgrave; her longtime friend and sister. Mel's deviousness was matched only by her love for Alliance blood. Mel led the guild through Hemlock's enlistment into Thrall's army. Much honor was to be had and many members became heroes around Frostwolf's campfires. But, as Forsaken banality sunk in, Mel too wished to step down from the leadership role.

Scarecrow, the last remaining of the charter signers was handed leadership out of necessity; there was no one else remaining from that fateful night in Tirisfal Glades. However, the lone oath breaker was more interested in his own dark arts, preferring the company of conjured minions instead of the self-aware. He had lost the vision of set forth for the Society on the night the warrior, the rogue, and warlock climbed out of the mass grave in Deathknell…the destruction of mankind. He oversaw early Blood Elf integration into the guild, but soon became obsessed with his own personal power.

For the sake of the guild, fortunately, its numbers and purpose had grown beyond its original charter.

Tauren had joined, bringing their conflicts and strength. Orcs, with their rage and bloodlust, began to stand in our front lines. Blood Elves, primed for revenge, brimming with mystical power, began to fill out the ranks. Hemlock Society could live in the shadows no more. A handful became a score, and that score became an army.

Who to lead that army? The dispassionate warlock sitting on the back of a flaming dreadstead? A political strategist yes, but not the one that could lead Blood Knights, snarling ferals, and scores of blades into battle.

Emerging from the ranks, axe in hand, hair in a tight braid, tusks gleaming, Uniqua stepped even further out of the shadow. Her brilliant tactics in dungeons soon gave her much renown on the battlefield. Even those not of the order deferred to her command. As her presence was felt throughout the guild, the guild's iron fist was felt around the throat of the Alliance. They knew the name of their enemy, and it was not just "The Horde", but the Hemlock Society. Uniqua has made this all possible by her leadership not only on the battlefield, but in the guild hall as well.

So...the answer to the question of what is more dangerous, the hand or the poison?

Answer: They are equal, as the Hemlock Society is both.

((The Hemlock Society is a raiding focused, role-playing PVP guild. Role-play is not required, but encouraged. We like to think we are mature, and expect new members to act accordingly.. We currently recruit by invite only. We do maintain strong friendships with like-minded guilds, and often fill spots for each other in raids or pre-made Battlegrounds. We also high encourage checking the website often as there is a lot of great content and discussions, not to mention raid sign ups.))
